POS Retrofit Adapter

Connect any payment software with any payment hardware: Akrodyn POS adapters translate between USB, MDB, OPI and Wi-Fi in both directions.

The payment infrastructure in vending machines, kiosks and checkout terminals is a patchwork of protocols: the cash register speaks USB, the payment terminal only understands OPI (Open Payment Interface), the coin validator uses MDB. Available Variants

Variant 1: USB → O.P.I. POS Adapter Board (AK-POS-USB-OPI) Connects a PC or embedded host (USB serial) with an OPI payment terminal (Ethernet). Automatically handles channel 0/1, timeouts, payment abort and all OPI functions. Ideal for IM15 integration.

Variant 2: MDB → O.P.I. POS Adapter Board (AK-POS-MDB-OPI) Translates the MDB bus (Multi-Drop Bus, vending standard) to OPI. Retrofit solution for vending machines with modern card terminals.

Variant 3: USB → MDB POS Adapter Board (AK-POS-USB-MDB) Brings USB serial control to the MDB bus, for software that does not natively speak MDB.

Variant 4: Wi-Fi → MDB Adapter Board (AK-POS-WIFI-MDB) Wireless control of the MDB bus for remote management or cloud connectivity of vending machines.

Variant 5: Wi-Fi → O.P.I. POS Adapter Board (AK-POS-WIFI-OPI) Wireless connection of an OPI payment terminal: no Ethernet cable required, full OPI functionality.
